Hello All! My name is Michael Lutz and I am from Baltimore, Maryland, USA. I received my degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware in 2009 . I later studied to become a teacher and was a Chemistry and Biology teacher for ages 15-19 at a high school in Delaware. In university, I had studied Biochemistry and also taken multiple education classes in case I ever wanted to teach. I had also studied abroad in India for two months exploring different schools and education systems.
I have spent more than a year in Moscow currently working with children aged 4-7 as their group teacher. I enjoy the sweetness and innocence of the children and it is very rewarding to see them learn basic (but important skills). I am trained in the Jolly Phonics curriculum – which is a British method for learning how to read. I am always looking for new ways to improve my skills and help my students more.
I have spent a lot of time in Europe – Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Georgia, and Moldova – during the last 5 years and am very understanding of the cultural norms (and also what is lacking that is important for a future spent in other European or Western countries). Prior to relocating to Moscow, I served a high level manager in an international import company and these skills allow me to find the best resources and know how to get the most out of my support team!
I look forward to teaching your children how to read, how to do math, and most importantly how to become well raised young children!
